Commercial Diving is a very broad area of diver training and varies from simple tasks, such as underwater welding to deep sea habitat construction and wet/dry bell Saturation diving...

The hard hat as seen here is associated with commercial diving activities, this is why it is incorporated into our logo.

Our first level commercial training is for divers to become familiar with this piece of equipment as the hard hat is core to most commercial diving activities... Using UW Communications and Surface Supplied Air.

Understanding Commercial Diving

Commercial diving and our occupational diving programs certainly overlap but they also complement each other as the occupational programs are a very good entry level into Commercial diver training. Commercial Diving covers three (3) main areas:

  • On-Land / On Shore.
  • In-Shore / Costal.
  • Off-Shore.

Employment in the Commercial Diving Industry is normally associated with just two (2) industries; Oil and Gas, as these are extracted from many parts of the World, from the Sea-beds and Ocean-floors.  However many of the diving jobs today involve high technology, such as ROV (Remote Operated Vehicles) and Advanced Robotics for deep well heads. Very dangerous Jobs that used to be done by humans are now being carried out by robots.

There are still of course many job that humans can safely do in the commercial diving World and these are mostly covered in our occupational diver training programs, the major difference will be the amount of theory and experience required for off-shore work!  We must apologise but all our current commercial programs are full for the next year ++...

We are liaising currently with Oil & Gas Companies to assess the future needs of professional divers and to produce higher education programs to meet their needs...
